Story Notes

"Bored Sick" is my third and final Street Music collaboration. Dana might have written the most empathetic serial killer story ever told.

Adapting my style to subject matter called for a brutal brush-heavy approach. Among my influences are Alex Toth, Mark Badger, José Muñoz, and Barry Windsor-Smith's "Red Nails." This was the longest story I'd ever done at this point!

Being intimated by the Ames guide and calligraphy nibs, I invented my own lettering process. The overall lettering isn't bad, but often sacrifices legibility and consistency for rugged indie spirit. The caption boxes are ruined by a misguided attempt to match the art. Perhaps I should've stolen David Lloyd's borderless approach on V for Vendetta.

Dave Marshall, who's horrible lettering might've killed Street Music
